BEST ACTOR NOMINEE Women Of The Lens · 2026
To My Father With Love
Uzoamaka Onuoha has been nominated for Best Actor at the 2026 Women Of The Lens Film Festival for her performance in To My Father With Love. The recognition brings this Brewstarz Films project to an international festival audience.
Written and directed by Onuoha, who also leads the cast, the short explores the complex bond between a mother and her son. In an interview with The Nollywood Reporter, she described the selection as her first international festival milestone for a film she directed, and acknowledged Alexander Mezue of Brewstarz among the collaborators who helped bring it to life.

False 9: The Curse of the Plague Doctor
Jake and Ella leave city life behind for a romantic retreat in a remote woodland cabin. Hoping to reconnect, they instead awaken bound to chairs before a stranger dressed as a plague doctor.
Bound by an ancient covenant, their captor forces them into a disturbing test of love and honesty. They must answer deeply personal questions truthfully, while his mask detects every lie. More than nine lies, or an attempt to evade a question, will unleash a deadly plague punishment. The truth offers their only chance of freedom.
As buried secrets emerge, Jake and Ella must confront their pasts, their insecurities and the fragile foundations of their relationship. This psychological thriller asks how much truth love can survive, and what dishonesty might cost.
